Hilavitkutin.fi, out of mothballs
The blog run by Origodesign Oy has been woken up again. This is not a new name, and not a new subject. It is the same curiosity that once filled a Finnish morning with odd machines.

Where the name came from
The original blog, Hilavitkutin.com, was founded in 2006 by the founder of Origodesign Oy. There were two reasons, and neither needs dressing up: a passion for technology, and a need for income on the side. The site wrote about gadgets, inventions and machines that were useful, ridiculous, or both at once.
The peak years
In its peak years Hilavitkutin.com had more than 40,000 readers a day. The site was then sold abroad. The name left the house. What remained was the memory of a Finnish technology blog whose founder could not keep a strange machine to himself.
Back, and smaller
The blog is in the company’s hands again. The address is hilavitkutin.fi. The scale is smaller than in the years when tens of thousands of people read it every day. The spirit is the same.
Hilavitkutin.fi is a new version of the same blog, and a prouder one: the same appetite, kept by the company, written for this moment. It shows gadgets, artificial intelligence and odd technology, and it calls itself the original Finnish gadget blog. This time the name has not been sold away.
